Meet our Team at Currumbin Cycles
Come in and have a chat to our expert bike mechanics and cycling specialists.
There‘s been a bike shop, and the same amount of passion, at the current site of Currumbin Cycles since the early 1980’s.
Len Cooper, who still lives here in Currumbin, established Cooper Cycles in late 1983. The shop became Burkes Bike Yard in 1995. The Burkes also still live here in Currumbin. The current owner is Kane Simpson – a mad keen cyclist, bike mechanic and lover of bikes in general.
Kane has owned Cururmbin Cycles for over 4 years now and was employed by the previous owner as the general manager/ bicycle mechanic before purchasing the bike shop back in 2015.
Kane in a previous life was a professional triathlete and brings a wealth of knowledge to the cycling industry. Kane is also a senior Bike mechanic and can help you with all sales, repairs and anything bike!
Come in and say G’day to Kane and hit him up with any bike enquiries you may have.
Guy is in fact a great guy! Otherwise known as Cobber. Cobber loves a late morning cycle and like many other cyclists is a coffee addict. He may come across as a quiet fella but once he gets chatting to you, you won’t be able to keep him quiet.
Cobber is a senior bicycle mechanic at Currumbin Cycles having worked in the industry for over 20 years. His enthusiasm for bikes is evident through his sharp attention to detail while servicing and repairing bikes.
Come down the shop and grab a coffee with Guy!
Stu has been with Currumbin Cycles over 4 years now and has been in the cycling industry for over 25 years. Stuart is well known on the Gold Coast for his brilliant mechanical skills and wealth of knowledge.
As well as working in the industry Stu has had a long and successful cycling career whilst competing on the track and road throughout Australia.
Stu takes great pride in his mechanics and would love to assist you.
